DIRECTIONS
Chiros
Clinic: 3 Church Close -
By foot from the Upper High
Street: Continue up the
hill through pedestrian precinct, turn
right at "The Pramery" into
Newbury Street. Church Close is the first
left turn. The clinic is the cream coloured Georgian building beyond St Mary's surgery and the church hall (Harris Hall). It's the last building on the left before you reach Bracher Close. The Iron Age Museum is opposite.
From surrounding areas: Follow
brown tourist signs for "Iron Age
Museum" which is also in Church
Close.
As you pass the museum, turn left into
Bracher Close where there are some one hour parking slots. At the end of this line of off-street parking is the entrance to the clinic yard where there may also be a couple of parking slots. These days parking is limited and you may need to use the surface car park at George Yard behind Marks and Spencer (go past the right turn into Church Close and immediately turn left to get to this car park).

Bookings
Bookings should be made by telephone or
by e-mail. The best number to reach me on is the Southampton number, (023)
8058 2219, or failing that, my mobile, 079500 24364. For reception at the Chiros Clinic ring
(01264) 324924. If I'm with a client, you
will be asked to leave a message on my
answerphone. If you want me to ring you
back it's useful to say when you will be
available. Consultations are strictly by
appointment and I regret that
casual callers cannot be seen. A minimum
of 24 hours notice must be given of a
cancellation or the full session fee may
be payable.
Fees
Introductory
Consultation
For anything except stopping smoking,
your first session will be a free
introductory consultation. This is so
that I can answer any questions you may
have about the therapy and to ensure that
the therapy is right for you.
Stop Smoking
I do a single session taking
approximately two hours.
- £155 per session (including back-up
CD).
Suggestion Therapy
(for slimming, nail biting, pre-test
nerves etc)
I usually do one or, sometimes, two
sessions. A "booster" session may
be recommended after an interval.
- £75 per session (approximately one and
a half hours).
Analytical Therapy
(For most other problems.) This is a
totally private and individual therapy.
Everybody is different, but as a guide it
is usually completed in close to ten '50 minute
hour' sessions held at weekly intervals.
- £60 per session, payable one session
in advance.
QUESTIONS
AND ANSWERS
What is hypnosis?
Hypnosis is a state of mind that is
induced by focusing on ideas and
suggestions. Hypnosis allows a therapist
to work with your unconscious mind so
that it can support your conscious aims.
Are there some people you cannot
hypnotise?
No. Anyone who can follow simple
instructions can be hypnotised.
Are drugs or tablets used?
No.
What does hypnosis feel like?
That varies from person to person and
even from session to session. Most people
report feeling very relaxed and lethargic
but focused. They are aware of everything
that happens during the session.
What are the dangers of hypnosis?
Hypnosis is not dangerous. Hypnosis is a
natural state of mind, rather like a
daydream, which everybody experiences
every day. As you go to sleep and as you
wake up you experience a hypnotic state
and you can see people in hypnosis in
every day life, we say "they are in
a world of their own". Your mind
creates the hypnotic state and accepts or
rejects any suggestion made by the
therapist - at all times your mind is in
control. There are so many misconceptions
about hypnosis that any specific worries
you may have are best addressed at an
introductory consultation.
